Program Highlights:
1. Introduction:
The IBM Student Developer Program on GenAI & Data Science was held at the 4th Floor Seminar Hall on 27/09/2024. The event was organized by the BCA Department in collaboration with IBM, bringing together over 100 students from the Computer Science and related disciplines. This full-day workshop aimed to introduce students to the cutting-edge fields of Generative AI (GenAI) and Data Science, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world applications.
2. Welcome Address:
Mr. Preethi Verdhini, Student of V Semester BCA, delivered a warm welcome address, who outlined the objectives of the program and the importance of AI and Data Science in shaping future careers.
3. Session by Resource Person:
The resource person for the workshop was Rahul Moorjani, a leading expert from IBM with vast experience in AI and Data Science. Rahul guided students through various aspects of Data Science and GenAI, helping them develop practical skills using industry-standard tools and frameworks. The next session focused on the emerging field of Generative AI, a subset of AI that focuses on generating new content. Rahul discussed several key techniques and concepts in Generative AI, including:
Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT): How GPT models, such as GPT-3, are used for text generation and natural language processing. Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs): An introduction to GANs and how they are used to generate realistic images, videos, and other media. Applications of GenAI: Use cases of Generative AI in art, music creation, synthetic media (deepfakes), and even drug discovery.
4. Vote of Thanks:
Mr Viswajit, Student of VI Semester BCA, delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the organizers, speakers, and participants for their contributions to the shuccess of the session.
Conclusion:
The IBM Student Developer Program on GenAI & Data Science was a highly successful event, providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in AI and Data Science while learning from one of the leaders in the field.
