Objectives :
The main objective of this program was "to motivate the youth to adopt ideals and principles of great Swami Vivekananda in their lifestyle and work to build a strong nation.

Outcomes:
• Students came to know about the great Swami Vivekananda.
• Students get motivated to adopt ideals and principles of Swami Vivekananda in their lifestyle.
• Students get inspired to work for a strong nation.

National Youth Day is celebrated on the occasion of the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. It is celebrated to honour his ideals and principals to inspire the youth of the nation. Hamsa Jyothi trust in association with DYES Bangalore and St Francis College had organized “National Youth Day” on 12th Jan 2024. NCC, NSS, YRC & IRC committees took part in this energetic event.

The event started with a procession where members of Hamsa Jyothi trust, DYES and management, teaching faculty and approx 500 students form St. Francis College had participated. Procession started from the college front gate to Koramangala signal to Wipro Signal and finally concluded at the college back gate. Procession was led by various cultural teams. The NCC cadets were carrying Swami Vivekanada’s poster and youth dressed like Swami Vivekananda were highlights of the procession.

After the procession everyone assembled in the college quadrangle for the stage program. Chief Guest of the event Dr. Ramachandra, Director (Retired) of Kidwai hospital motivated youth in a positive way by stressing out the principles of Swami Vivekananda.

Program was celebrated by organizing various folk dances, Yoga Performance from various teams and the NCC cadets also performed Bhoota Kola and Kamsale. The college students were given awards for their performances in various fields by Hamsa Jyothi Trust and DYES Bangalore. The NCC cadets JUO K Naveen and CQMS Anusha S were awarded in the field of overall performance and sports respectively. This day was meant for the youngsters which states today's generation is tomorrow's future.
