Objectives :
To familiarize the target students with the nuances of the play, theatrics, stage movements, the intricacies of the play, the various themes and motives used by the playwright.

Outcomes:
The target students would acquire a deep understanding of the play which would prove beneficial for their University Examination.

On January 6th, 2024, the Department of English organized an educational tour for the III Semester B.Com/BBA students to witness the live performance of "Dance Like a Man," by Mahesh Dattani, a play prescribed in their syllabus. The play was performed at APS College of Commerce.

The programme commenced at 10:30 am and ended at 12:30 pm. 69 students (from III Semester B.Com and BBA) and 3 faculty members attended the programme.

Witnessing the nuanced performances deepened the students' understanding of the text beyond the limitations of mere words. They saw the characters' emotions unfold, connected with their struggles, and gained a clearer perspective on the play's poignant message.. They were able to visualize the characters, settings, and connect with the play's themes on a deeper level. This practical learning experience provided students with a unique opportunity to connect with the play's themes and characters beyond the confines of the textbook.

The feedback about the educational tour was overwhelmingly positive. Students expressed their interest to attend more programmes of this kind in the future.
