Report on an Interactive Session on Benefits of Yoga & Meditation Session
Conducted by The Health Club-Swasthya on 21-12-2021

Health Club – Swasthya, conducted an offline interactive talk on “Benefits of Yoga and Meditation Session”, on 21 December, 2021 at 2:30 pm -3:30 pm in the quadrangle hall for the first-year degree students of all courses. Keeping in mind the objective to build an awareness about yoga and meditation; Lead a disciplined life where student can focus on work life balance and healthy life style and well-being. Health club took a vanguard step towards this goal.

The event was organised and conducted under the stewardship of Dr.Prachi Tripati, Health Club coordinator, Ms.Shirisha Balagam, Manjula Deshpande and Ms.Amrutha were the convenors of session.

Savitha Reddy has a degree in Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Mount Carmel Institute of Management and passed out in the year 2000 specializing in Finance and Information systems. Prior to MBA, she is a graduate in Business Management (BBM) from NMKRV passing out in the year 1998. 

She is currently the CEO of inlingua Bangalore. She started inlingua in Bangalore in the year 2005 and has been successfully managing the business for the last 15 years growing it into one of the top language training schools in India. inlingua offers training in English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Mandarin, Italian and other foreign languages to Corporates, Colleges and retail clients.

She is also actively into running and trekking. Yoga is what keeps her fit and going. In her free time she is into Writing, Poetry and Painting. She has conducted a few motivational talks to college students inspiring them to take up entrepreneurship.

The Program was conducted as an offline Interactive talk, where in the students had a lively interactive discussion after the presentation. Health Club took the initiative in conducting the talk sessions on 21th December. All the first-year students were introduced to the benefits of yoga & meditation.

The initiative taken by the Health Club helped the students, Faculty members and non- teaching staff to ask questions related to health and well-being in day-to-day life.

Ms. Savitha Reddy, the resource person had shown few videos and PPT on yoga & meditation. She also demonstrated a small meditation and every one participated in that exercise. Positive feedback was received from the participants. Participants had expressed their interest in participating in more of such events in the near future to explore more about Yoga and meditation.
