INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

Objective : To   express love and gratitude towards women’s contribution to our lives and society. 
Outcome : To create awareness among people on the importance of women in nation building

Women’s Cell of St. Francis College celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2022. The programme was organised in the Quadrangle at 2:30 pm. and it was attended by both teaching and non-teaching staff as well as students. The celebration began with the prayer and lighting of the lamp by the Management and members of the Women's Cell.

Various cultural programmes with the theme "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow" were organised by the Women's Cell . The programme was conducted with great pomp and fervour on this special day. The programme was presided over by the Management.

The highlights of the event were:
● Felicitation of the Office Bearers of Women’s Cell : The Office Bearers were felicitated by Bro.Antony, Director and Bro.Peter, Deputy Director.

The following students have been appointed as Office Bearers for the academic year 2021-22

● Song Performance ( Theme of women empowerment)
Students sang a wonderful theme song on the importance of women’s empowerment.

● Fashion Walk ( Featuring successful women from different fields)
Students from various disciplines enthusiastically took part in the Fashion walk. The participants dressed themselves like successful women from diverse fields. and presented themselves in costumes that connected them. A PowerPoint presentation served as a backdrop to this.

This was followed by cake cutting.
The Management, Women’s Cell members and Office Bearers joined for the cake cutting as part of the celebration

The event was well-received, and the attendees expressed their desire to attend more such events in the future.
Overall, the programme was a memorable moment for all the attendees.
