 Report or Overall Summary:

The NCC Unit of St. Francis College organized a visit to the Madras Engineer Group (MEG) on 12th December 2024, exclusively for NCC cadets. The participants of the event were 30 MCC cadets. The event aimed to provide cadets with a comprehensive understanding of army life, the history of MEG, and various aspects of military operations.

The visit commenced with a briefing on the history and significance of the MEG, followed by a weapon briefing session, where cadets were introduced to various types of firearms and military equipment. The cadets then proceeded to the MEG museum, which showcased a vast collection of artifacts, memorabilia, and historical relics.

The cadets also witnessed the precision and discipline of the MEG personnel during a parade ground visit. Additionally, they visited the mining area, where they gained knowledge about the MEG’s expertise in demining and explosive ordnance disposal. The visit provided a unique and enriching experience for the NCC cadets, inspiring them to develop leadership skills, discipline, and patriotism.

The event was a huge success, and the NCC cadets expressed their gratitude to the MEG personnel for their hospitality and guidance. The visit to MEG was an invaluable experience for the NCC cadets of St. Francis College, and it will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on their lives.
