Objectives:

·Educate students about HIV / AIDS, its causes, symptoms, and prevention methods to reduce stigma and misconceptions.  
· Inform students about the importance of getting tested and seeking treatment if diagnosed with HIV / AIDS.

Outcomes:

·The World Aids Day Program often includes HIV testing and counseling services, encouraging students to get tested and take preventive measures.
·By promoting open discussion and awareness these programs help to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV / AIDS.

 Report or Overall Summary:

The NCC cadets of St. Francis College, Koramangala, organized a World AIDS Day event on December 2, 2024, at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Koramangala. The Participants of the event were 40 Cadets, 1 PI Staff, 1 ANO from St. Francis College, and 70 students from Chinmaya Vidyalaya. The event aimed to raise awareness about AIDS and its prevention among the students and staff of the school.

The event featured two esteemed resource persons, Mr. M Revanna and Mr. Mahesh B M, officers from District Health and Family Welfare, Bangalore District, who shared their expertise on HIV/AIDS. They delivered informative sessions on the causes, symptoms, and prevention methods of HIV/AIDS, emphasizing the importance of safe practices and early detection.

The NCC cadets played an active role in organizing the event, demonstrating their commitment to community service and social awareness. The event helped create a ripple effect of awareness and sensitivity towards HIV/AIDS, inspiring the students to become ambassadors of change in their communities.
