 Objective: 

The main objective of this program was “to facilitate large-scale advocacy and citizen participation for swachhata, mega cleanliness drives with a focus on clearing of dirty and difficult garbage spots (black spots).

Outcomes:

·To build values of cleanliness, hygiene, and waste management in diverse socio-economic contexts
·To understand the planning of social policy and programs.
·To use waste management techniques at a community level.
·To instill a sense of service towards society and the Nation.

On October 2, 2024, a vibrant bicycle rally was organized to celebrate Swachhata Hi Seva, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The event aimed to raise awareness about cleanliness, environmental protection, and community engagement, aligning with Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a cleaner India.

The rally commenced at St. Francis College at 10:00 AM, following a pre-planned route through key areas of the community. The event's Chief Guest was Ms. R. Lakshmi Chalapathi, who addressed the gathering, highlighting the vital role of cleanliness in our daily lives and its importance in preserving a healthy environment. The rally officially began with a flag-off ceremony, graciously conducted by the chief guest and other esteemed dignitaries. The rally started from St. Francis College then proceeded to St. John’s signal and then to the Silk Board signal, HSR layout Fly over signal. Along the way, participants carried banners and placards highlighting the importance of cleanliness and sustainability. The bicycle rally promoted the message of cleanliness and fostered community spirit and unity. Participants expressed their commitment to prioritizing cleanliness daily, reflecting Gandhi’s philosophy of service and responsibility.
