Objective:
To provide hands-on experience in painting and decorating terracotta plates, encouraging students to express their creativity while learning about traditional and contemporary art techniques. The competition aims to foster artistic skills and enhance material knowledge among students in the department.

Report:
The Department of Interior Design and Decoration organized the Terracotta Plate Painting Competition for all students in the department on 11th November 2024 from 10:45 AM to 12:45 PM, Each student received a terracotta plate provided by the college, along with a basic supply of brushes. Students were encouraged to bring additional stationery and materials to fully realize their artistic visions.

During the event, students explored various themes and techniques, including floral patterns, mandalas, and abstract designs. This hands-on activity allowed participants to experiment with colour combinations and styles, helping them gain practical experience in decorative art. The students showcased a range of artistic expressions, turning simple terracotta plates into beautiful pieces of art.

The event concluded with a display of all painted plates, where participants and faculty members appreciated the creativity and efforts of each student. Overall, the competition was a successful and enjoyable learning experience that not only highlighted the artistic talents of the students but also reinforced the use of traditional materials in contemporary design.
