Research is the backbone of academics. It is a tool for building knowledge and facilitating learning culture among the students and faculty members. St. Francis College has established the Research and Development Cell to promote rigorous research with an objective of transforming ideas into innovative practices.

The Research and Development Cell aims to promote a research culture in newly emerging and challenging areas of Management, Commerce, Technology, Science and Humanities. This enhances the general research capability of budding technocrats by way of participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, project competition, etc.

Purpose
The Research Cell in St.Francis College is accountable for communicating students about intercollegiate research opportunities and emboldens students to publish original work in leading journals and presenting papers at conferences. The cell also organizes Academic Writing workshops in order to hone writing and analytical skills of students.

Objectives
□ To create awareness and opportunities in Research and Development among the student teachers & faculty
□ To ensure smooth functioning and effective Management of R&D at the institution.
□ To provide a focal point in the institution to co-ordinate R&D activities between various departments,
    faculty members and research students of the respective institution.
□ To motivate the faculty members of the group for R&D activities in the area of their specialization;
□ To encourage staff members and students to publish technical papers for publishing in National and
   reputed International conferences/journals;
□ To undertake research activities and development projects offered by agencies
□ To develop strategies to foster research collaborations within the faculty, across faculty and institutes, and with agencies outside the college
□ To coordinate faculty level workshops and staff development activities on research-related issues;
□ To monitor ongoing research projects in the college
□ To assist in applying and getting funds for conducting Seminar/Workshop/FDP from various available funding agencies.
