Human rights in India is an issue complicated by the country's large size and population, widespread poverty, lack of proper education, as well as its diverse culture, despite its status as the world's largest sovereign, secular, democratic republic. The Constitution of India provides for Fundamental rights, which include freedom of religion. Human Right Committee (HRC) promotes realize and educate students on various aspects and issues relating to human rights. HRC of St. Francis College promote activities aiming of awareness towards human right

Purpose
The HRC in St.Francis College will facilitate human right awareness in different levels of age, academic, gender and in professionalism. The committee focuses on organizing various programs in association with academics and eminent personalities from reputed organization who have diverse good experience in working on areas related to human rights. The committee organizes invited talk, seminars, competitions to get awareness towards human right in India.

Objectives
□ To promote collaborations with various organizations to organize workshops, seminars, invited talks and other events.
□ To educate the students about National law, Public International Law and International Human Rights etc.
□ To disseminate awareness of Indian Constitution and human right through competitions among college and school students
□ To disseminate awareness of rights of child, women and specially abled people
□ To disseminate awareness towards work place right and learning right
□ To disseminate study towards gender issues, information law etc.
